- Fall and Spring semesters
- Free for all students
- Meets three times a week during specials (students go to P.E. on the fourth day of the week.
- 6th Grade Step-Up Night:
- Friday, October 13, 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm, high school band room
- Veterans Day Assembly:
- Thursday, November 9, during school, middle school gym
- Holiday Concert:
- Thursday, December 8, 6:30 pm - 7:15 pm, high school gym
- Boise Philharmonic Field Trip:
- Saturday, February 24, 7:30 - 9:00, Boise Morrison Center
- In-Class Recital:
- Tuesday, February 27, during school, middle school band room
- 5th & 6th Grade May Concert:
- Thursday, May 11, 6:30 pm - 7:15 pm, middle school gym
- Idaho District III Middle School Band Festival:
- Date to be announced (early May), at a local middle school
- Fruitland Invitational 6th Grade Band Festival:
- Date to be announced (early May), at Fruitland Middle School
- Students have the opportunity to perform at other events throughout the year
Can I participate in sports and band?
Yes. Most band students are also on a sports team. If you participate in sports, you can be excused from band performances that conflict with the sports schedule.
Do I have to buy my own instrument to be in band?
No. You have the option to buy or rent your own instrument, but you may also use a school-owned instrument for free.
Do I already need to know how to play an instrument?
No. We will teach you everything you need to know about reading music and playing an instrument.
Does it cost money to be in band?
Band is free for all students!
